Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
Bosch PowerForAll
The Bosch PowerForAll Tool range is a range of tools you can buy knowing that batteries are compatible with all tools in the range providing they are of the same voltage. eg 18v fits 18v, 12v (10.8v) fits 12v (10.8v) etc. Please also note that 10.8v is compatible with 12v & vice versa as it is just a name change. Indego Lawnmowers also use the PowerForAll 18v battery but require a cover plate to be removed if changing.
PowerForAll has many advantages not least the fact that once you have a tool with a few batteries then there is no need to buy the more expensive versions with battery & charger, you can just go ahead & buy the much cheaper no battery versions!
So remember PowerForAll signifies complete battery compatibility throughout the range. There is however, one caveat to this, some of the very first older chargers will not charge the very latest batteries & a battery charger upgrade will be required if you have a first generation charger. All batteries fit all tools however.
As of 2021 Bosch has licensed PowerForAll to other manufacturers whereby batteries between these manufacturers will be interchangeable.
Important
You cannot use Bosch Pro (Blue) batteries in either 12v or 18v DIY (Green) products.

Works great, low weight, noise OK. Just cut 18mm board so far & is very good for that. Depth gauge is poor design and difficult to see hence a few stars off but would recommend to anyone using Bosch 18V system.

I like a cord-free circular saw - my first. Good power for domestic use - but if you want a second battery check the price before you commit. I've always found the cutting guides poorly designed to follow a marked line and the one supplied on this saw does nothing to improve that

Item was as ordered but was very late delivery due to coronavirus situation. Also item was delivered to the wrong address. The owner recognised my address and drove it round.

Powerful, easy to use, excellent battery life, battery will keep its charge for well over a year, amazing cut quality, just keep it fitted with a sharp blade and it will do everything you need. It's a shame you need to buy the charger etc. separately. Spare blades difficult to find but always fit a genuine bosch or the battery efficiency suffers. Awesome tool!

I added the saw to an existing battery - it must be far safer to use this saw without a cable! Great power and safety features for a non-professional. Great all round.

Fits perfectly into the bosch power4all family and performs as well as you would expect for a cordless bosch tool,a really good all rounder, which for my purposes it's perfect, efficient, quiet (relatively) and well designed for a right handed person to use all day long, it seems to run forever on one charge, if i really tried to fault it, i couldn't, what more can i say - a great buy!

Bought this item to replace a performance power 240v circular saw which had seen better days. Was a bit sceptical about it being battery powered, but being an owner of the bosch power4all psb 18 li-2 18v cordless 2 speed combi drill it made sense to stick to a product that used the same battery pack as my drill and not buy into another battery system. after receiving the saw i opened the box as was a tad disheartened as it looked and felt like a toy in comparison to my previous saw, which weight a ton. the depth gauges and mitre gage are easy to adjust, the saw comes with a parallel guide. the saw is light in the hand and clearly well built, very comfortable grip and easy to use trigger. Made a few practice cuts into some scrap 40mm batons, which it became very clear that this saw was indeed no toy and sliced through the wood with easy and with very little noise from the saw itself. the cuts were accurate and clean, my only gripe with the saw was the supplied balde was only 18 teeth, for the project i`ll be using it for, i need a finer cut, but finding blades of 150mm is a bit scarce. i can highly recommend this saw and i cant fault the service provided by tooledup.Com

Q : I have 2 smart LI-ION 118v 1.5 AH batteries from a cordless drill 5INR19/66 03/2017 Are they compatible ?
A : Hi Mark, I'm not familiar with the batteries you have but they would have to be 18v Power4All / Power For All batteries to work with this circular saw - for instance, it is compatible with all the batteries listed as accessories on our product page. However it won't be compatible with 18v batteries from other manufacturers like Einhell, DeWalt, Makita etc
Q : Are spare blades available for this saw, which is great by the way, because I cannot find any and Bosch has ignored my requests? (I'm looking for the thin kerf blades as developed for and supplied with this item.) Many thanks in anticipation of your help. A : Hi Gee, strangely enough the stock blade doesn't appear to be available for purchase separately at the present time. There is a Bosch standard 150mm 16mm bore blade available but if you're looking for the cordless types the options are a bit more limited - in fact we don't currently stock anything with these exact specifications as it seems that 10mm is a more common bore size for cordless machines. We do stock a few with larger bores (which you could use with a reducing washer) but the cordless variants in this spec are all for cutting metal... Bosch should be able to supply the original blade through their spares & repairs service but I know the whole home and garden market is struggling with unprecedented demand at the moment so it may be taking them longer than usual to respond?

This product carries a full 3 year manufacturers warranty covering both faulty materials and faulty workmanship, it does not cover general wear and tear or damage, batteries, blades, bulbs and other consumables. In the unlikely event of a fault the item returned is subject to fair wear & tear and must not have been used beyond the scope of it's design.
