Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.

Purchased for domestic use, have used it twice on a seriously overgrown hedge and it coped well with heavy growth. More powerful than I imagined and the 5.0Ah battery lasted well, with some residual charge after 10m of hedge. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a cordless hedgetrimmer.

Very well designed, and good build quality as expected from DeWalt. Lighter than most mains versions and very easy to handle. Battery life between charges is more than adequate - after 75 minutes of hedge-cutting, have a tea break whilst recharging, and it is ready for another 75 minutes. Plenty of power to cut overgrown hedges. Can't comment on reliability/durability yet, but if as good as other DeWalt products that I have used for years, all should be well. Only downside, when reaching out and needing to hold the side of the handle instead of the top, it is more difficult to operate the safety switch as your hand is nearer the pivot point of the handle. Overall, a brilliant product, my only regret is that I spent years with heavy mains driven cutters and trailing cables before discovering this machine.

Q : My DCM563 is 11 months old. Last week the motor started to cut out. This happens when hold trimmer horizontally. Any thoughts ?
A : Hi John, I'm afraid I'm not sure what might be causing that issue but as it's got a three year guarantee the best course of action will be to have it looked at under warranty - bear in mind you may risk voiding the warranty if you attempt any repairs yourself, so if in any doubt I'd arrange to have it looked at by an authorised repair centre
Q : Can you buy spare blades
A : Unfortunately, the blade on this machine is not replaceable.
Q : Does the trimmer have a blade guard for storage purposes?
A : I can confirm that this is supplied with a blade guard.

This product carries a full 3 year manufacturers warranty covering both faulty materials and faulty workmanship, it does not cover general wear and tear or damage, batteries, blades, bulbs and other consumables.
