Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
Bosch PowerForAll
The Bosch PowerForAll Tool range is a range of tools you can buy knowing that batteries are compatible with all tools in the range providing they are of the same voltage. eg 18v fits 18v, 12v (10.8v) fits 12v (10.8v) etc. Please also note that 10.8v is compatible with 12v & vice versa as it is just a name change. Indego Lawnmowers also use the PowerForAll 18v battery but require a cover plate to be removed if changing.
PowerForAll has many advantages not least the fact that once you have a tool with a few batteries then there is no need to buy the more expensive versions with battery & charger, you can just go ahead & buy the much cheaper no battery versions!
So remember PowerForAll signifies complete battery compatibility throughout the range. There is however, one caveat to this, some of the very first older chargers will not charge the very latest batteries & a battery charger upgrade will be required if you have a first generation charger. All batteries fit all tools however.
As of 2021 Bosch has licensed PowerForAll to other manufacturers whereby batteries between these manufacturers will be interchangeable.
Important
You cannot use Bosch Pro (Blue) batteries in either 12v or 18v DIY (Green) products.

This is the third product in this bosch range that I have purchased. This time unable to buy else where and so went online and fortunately found this site with great selection of the goods that I was looking for. Straightforward site which was easy to order from. I cannot review the features, performance and build quality of the item as it is a present and has not been used yet. I can say the service provided by the Tooled-up was excellent. There was a problem ordering on-line and my order had to be placed by telephone. The person taking the order was efficient and had an excellent telephone manner. The item was a very good price and arrived promptly. I recommend using Tooled-up I would use them again.

Q : Does the Bosch UNIVERSALIMPACT 18v Cordless Combi Drill have a Variable speed trigger? It would appear that the PSR 1800 LI-2 does.
A : Yes - in fact it would be quite unusual for any new cordless drill of this type not to have a variable speed trigger. You can tell from the speed range quoted in the specifications, i.e: 0 – 440 rpm in first gear means you can go up to 440 rpm depending how hard you squeeze the trigger.
Q : What are the differences between this and the PSB 1800?
A : Assuming you mean the PSB 1800 LI-2 (Bosch tend to re-use the same model numbers so there may well be prior generations) there isn't too much in it really. Spec-wise they are very similar, as you can see by comparing the descriptions. The UNIVERSALIMPACT is the newer model and I imagine it was released to fulfil the same role as the PSB 1800 but with a name and design that fits in more with the current generation of tools. Bosch have dispensed with the old model numbers in the green range and now call everything EASY, UNIVERSAL or ADVANCED. I think the idea is that it makes it simpler for DIYERs to choose a tool that matches their skill level. Perhaps the most significant difference is that the newer model no longer has a fuel gauge on the tool - other than that there isn't much between them really.
Q : Can this be used as an impact driver
A : Bosch have chosen what is probably a slightly confusing name for this series, but no, the UniversalImpact is a combi drill which can be used for hammer (impact) drilling into bricks etc, but it can't be used as an impact driver. You can use it to drive screws but it has an adjustable clutch which you use to preselect the torque required, so works like a traditional drill driver.
