Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.

The charger took forever to arrive. I understand that lockdown has presented problems but other online deliveries have been as normal. Having finally received the charger I am over the moon with it. It is a different design to the original but works fine.

Q : Good morning I have a Black+Decker BHFEV362DA-GB, 36V 2.0Ah PowerSeries Floor Extension Stick Vac Plus, Grey, 750 milliliters, I can’t find the charger, will this charger be suitable for my vacuum? Thanks
A : Hi there, It doesn’t look like we stock that vacuum cleaner any more but by the looks of it the battery system is the standard Black & Decker 36v lithium range which this charger is suitable for yes.
Q : I have a Black and Decker GLC3630L Trimmer that is uneconomical to repair. The 36V Battery and LCS36GB Type 1 Charger still work perfectly. Can you advise if they are compatible with any new Black and Decker trimmers?
A : Hi Rachael, yes - the GLC3630L is no longer being manufactured but there is a new Black & Decker 36v grass trimmer which uses exactly the same type of battery, and uses the same spools as well so any of your existing equipment should work with it. It's the BCSTA5362 which we stock on product ID 21032554K and we sell it either complete with a battery and charger, or as a bare tool which is just the machine by itself.
Q : Will this replace the 90567393-06 charger ?
A : Hi Boris, I'm not familiar with that model number, but if it is for the Black & Decker 36v lithium batteries, for example the one we stock on 21004463, then it will be a suitable replacement yes.
Q : Hi, I have a b&d 40V Lithium-ion battery. Would this charger be suitable for charging my battery. Also does the charger come supplied with an ac cable with 3 pin for plugging into a wall socket ? Thanks
A : Hi John, firstly this charger comes fitted with a length of cable and a 3 pin plug for plugging it into a UK mains socket, yes. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with a Black & Decker 40v system - usually this would imply a product from the US? UK 18v = US 20v and so on. However, you'd want to check with Black & Decker on that, as I only know that this charger will work with the Black & Decker 36v lithium ion batteries sold in this country (and it can be quite dangerous to charge batteries in a charger that wasn't designed for them).
Q : is this charger ok for the battery for an Extreme 36v cordless vacuum cleaner?
A : Hi Keith, I think there may be a few Black & Decker Extreme series vacuum cleaners but it is compatible with the three 36v models that we stock currently, ie the BHFEV36B2D, BHFEV362DP and BHFEV362DA, which all use the same type of interchangeable 36v lithium battery that the Black & Decker 36v cordless garden tool range uses.
Q : I purchased a replacement battery as the old one was not holding its charge but it does not seem to be charging either, is it likely to be the charger that is faulty rather than the batteries?
A : Hi Wendy, it certainly sounds like that could be the case if the same thing is happening with a brand new battery. If you're unsure you could always try contacting Black & Decker's support department who should be able to help you troubleshoot the issue and establish what is causing the problem.
Q : My Black & Decker strimmer GLC3630L20 uses a 36v battery type BL20362 H4 36V. I've lost the charger .. Is this the right type charger to replace it? Thank you :-)
A : Hi Chris, yes - this is a suitable replacement battery charger for the Black & Decker GLC3630L20 36v strimmer
Q : I have a 40v b&d battery and charger. Will this charge the 36v battery from the hedge cutter?
A : I'm not familiar with a Black & Decker 40v range, but these batteries should only be charged with the appropriate 36v charger and wouldn't be compatible with other types
Q : Hi’ I bought a B&D lawn mower from yourselves some 5 weeks ago the charger that came with it is a 90616337-02 Type 1 the battery’s are BL20362 H4 36v will these fit this Trimmer. Plus just to add Lawnmower brilliant and was rapid delivery from yourselves thank you.
A : Hi Liam, I'm not sure what trimmer you're looking at as you've asked the question on a battery charger :) but I am guessing it is one of the Black & Decker 36v ones? They make a hedge trimmer and a grass trimmer - all the tools in the Black & Decker 36v range share the same batteries and chargers, so the batteries from the 36v mower can be used to power the 36v grass trimmer or hedge trimmer, as well as the other tools in the range such as the 36v chainsaw. Hopefully that answers your question?
Q : The charger I have is part number 90567393=06 and the battery I have is 36 volt 2.0 ah. Will the above charger be suitable for this battery?
A : Hi George, unfortunately I can't find much information on that charger but this newer model will be fine as long as you have a Black & Decker 36v lithium battery resembling this one on our website: 21004463 (though it will look slightly different on the outside if it is an older battery)
