Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
Black & Decker Dualvolt
Black & Decker 54v Dualvolt is the new Black & Decker dual voltage system. A 54v Tool can only use 54v batteries, however your new Black & Decker 54v Dualvolt battery is fully compatible with all Black & Decker 18v Li-ion Power Tools as it is capable of stepping into 18v mode for this purpose. So upgrading to 54v means you can still make use of your 18v power tool range. 54v batteries are currently available in 4.5ah (18v mode) / 1.5ah (54v mode) & 7.5ah (18v mode) / 2.5ah (54v mode).

Does exactly what it is supposed to do. Easy to load and unload batteries for charging. Unit isn't too big or bulky considering the size of battery it is designed to charge.

Q : Do 18V batteries get the full 2A fast charging rate or is that reserved for 54V batteries?
A : Good morning, The fast chargers will charge 18v at a faster rate than standard chargers.
Q : How fast does it charge an 18v battery. The original charger takes around 3.75 hours.
A : Hi David, unfortunately Black & Decker haven't provided a list of charge times for this charger and it would depend on the capacity of the battery you were recharging but looking at the reviews for this product people have reported that they can recharge a 4ah 18v battery in somewhere between one and two hours.
Q : Can 18V 1,5 Ah batteries be charged with this charger?
A : Hi Sander, it will charge any Black & Decker 18v battery as long as it is from the current range, ie a lithium ion battery and not one of the earlier NiCAD or NiMH batteries which have since been discontinued
Q : Can 18v 4Ah BL4018 battery be charged to this charger?
A : Hi Mito, yes this is a suitable charger for the Black & Decker BL4018 18v 4ah battery

This product carries a full 2 year manufacturers warranty covering both faulty materials and faulty workmanship, it does not cover general wear and tear or damage, batteries, blades, bulbs and other consumables.
