Black and Decker BCD700S 18v Cordless Combi Drill
Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
Black & Decker 18v System
The Black & Decker 18v Li-ion System is a range of 18v tools where all 18v batteries of all ah ratings fit all tools, allowing you to buy just a few batteries but as many of the range of bare tools that you need without the expense of a new batteries and chargers each time.
Read 35 Customer Review(s) for Black and Decker BCD700S 18v Cordless Combi Drill
I have ordered 4 of these and two did not work as the power trigger did not work and look new but was sold to us as new, first one I got has worked ok and the one from Tooled up has worked ok. I am concerned there may be an underlying fault but we do not know and B&D have not said there are problems, I need two to work better as swopping tools is time and at the price Tooled up are selling they are a bargain.
As I already had an 18v battery I did not want to buy an expensive drill. This product was perfect for my needs. Have used it a few times and it works great.
Delivery was speedy and efficient, product as described, replaced a previous damaged drill, great for domestic DIY light weight work.
It's surprisingly new item with really low price comparatively in market. Item quality is great as expected.
I’m happy with the product. But I am not sure about the Robot that follows? Why do I have to prove that I’m not a Robot?
Excellent value
2nd unit purchased, had battery and charger, great product, good price, 100% satisfied. Thanks
Bought this B & D drill based on Reviews, as I'm a reluctant and pretty average DIY-er (at best). My inexperience perhaps explains my surprise at not getting any drill bits with such a comprehensive-looking bit of kit. Only used once so far, for drilling a few holes in plant pots, but so far so good! May be worth 5 stars but would I know if I used one! Excellent service and price from Tooled-Up.
Good value particularly as it was purchased without charger and battery as I have these from a previous purchase.
Good drill received promptly. However we had ordered two batteries but only one was initially delivered. It needed two phone calls and an email to get the second one delivered. All complete now and drill and batteries earning their keep.
Delivery not next day delivery but apart from that great
Needed this to replace a burnt out version of the same. Arrived in good time for less than it would've been elsewhere and without all the extras that I already have.
Although it was as described, it came without charger and battery but only because the seller took them out the box. There are more honest ways of making money. Moral standards???
The drill body was a perfect match for the rechargeable batteries I had for my existing drill, enabling my son to have a powerful hammer drill to use.
Great value, superfast despatch received next day. Will certainly look in again soon
Brilliant service, came just as expected, cheap, fast, reliable, would definitely recommend
Excellent in every way and brilliant service from the sellers. Five Star. xxxxx
Top speed delivery and really trustworthy seller
As I have other items using this battery was a good choice
Great Tool

Customer Questions & Answers
Q : i have Black and Decker 18v 2Ah which is a part of vaccum cleaner. Does this drill compatible with that batter?
A : Hi Pavan, it would have to be one of the lithium batteries, for example you can see the Black & Decker 18v 2ah Lithium ion battery we stock separately on product ID 20997043. Note that if it is an older type of battery like NICAD or NiMH then it won't be compatible.
Q : Hi folks I used mine for the 1st time today and the chuck has stuck. I can't release the bit. Any ideas? Regards Jimmy
A : Hi Jimmy, this can happen to keyless chucks from time to time and often you just need to supply a larger amount of force than you can typically apply with your bare hands alone - there are various ways of doing this which you can probably find if you search for this issue online; however the BCD700S doesn't have an all-metal chuck and if you are concerned about damaging it, it is probably safest to raise it as a warranty issue.
Q : Having great trouble fitting my BCD700S back into its carrying case!
A : Hi David, I'm afraid I'm not sure what the issue (or solution) is as I'm not aware of anyone else reporting this problem so far.
Q : I am looking to purchase a b&d combi drill. What is the difference between the bcd700s, the bcd003c and the bcdh188. The price difference is quite a lot and I can see nothing in the spec that sets them apart. Thank you.
A : Hi Kevin, as you say there isn't really a huge difference between them and the prices bear more correlation to which units are currently on special offer rather than which one is actually worth the most money. Technically the BCD003C is probably the best machine on paper as it has a built-in worklight and can deliver more torque than the other two - the BCD003C is the newest in the series and the BDCH188 is the oldest.
Q : Hi looking for a a power drill but must be able to use for wood and brick I was looking at this one would this do the job or do you have something different it’s mostly for general DIY work BCD700S 18v
A : Hi Ross, yes the BCD700S will be suitable for DIY drilling jobs in wood and bricks, up to its recommended maximum diameters of 25mm in wood and 10mm in masonry. If you're looking for a cordless drill, anything in the Combi Drills category on our site will be suitable really, but we're selling quite a few of this specific model at the moment as we've got a pretty good deal on them while stocks last
Q : how long to charge
A : Hi Stan, currently both the kit versions we supply come with a smaller 0.4amp charger. Unfortunately I don't have the exact specifications but I imagine this would completely recharge a 1.5ah battery (again, supplied as standard) in around 4 hours. You can of course use the BCD700S with any of the batteries and chargers shown in the Accessories section on the right of the page, which will give different results depending on the models used.
Q : Hi what is the difference between the black and decker 2 gear and 2 speed drills? They have both options online and I can’t tell the difference? Thanks
A : Hi Leigh-ann, I'm not sure exactly what models you're looking at but in this context Speeds and Gears both mean the same thing - so a 2 speed combi drill is the same as a combi drill with 2 gears if you see what I mean, it's just a different way of saying it. Therefore there may not be any difference at all between the two machines you're looking at.
Q : What is the main difference between drill's bdch188 combi and bcd700s combi
A : Hi Paul, the BCD700S is the newer model, with current Black & Decker branding all over it, but as far as specifications go there's not a great deal between them. The newer model has slightly higher torque and speed but probably not to the extent that you'd notice during use! I think probably the biggest advantage of the newer design is the shorter body which will help if you ever need to use it in an especially tight space for example
Q : Hi can you tell my why the price on your website is different to the Google search.? When it comes up on a seach it's down as £29.99 down from £47.00 . When I click the link to your website its £49.99. Regards..
A : Hi Michael, it sounds like this will be an outdated Google link which is unfortunately not something we can control (the machine was probably on offer for a limited time at some point)
Q : Does the drill come with battery and charger
A : Hi Francis, this product is available either as a bare tool or in kit version with battery and charger. You just have to select which option you want from the green drop down menu at top right
